• ACA Flatwater and Coastal Kayaking Class
  This comprehensive two-day class is offered annually covering the ACA basics plus alot more. This class is open to anyone interested and motivated to develop the skills and knowledge base needed to minimize risks and take trips on Lake Superior. SKOAC membership is included in the course fee.
• Introduction to Lake Superior Touring
  This class/trip is offered as a follow-up to the ACA Flatwater and Coastal Kayaking class and consists of a weekend trip to the Apostle Islands.This weekend trip is appropriate for paddlers who have taken the two-day ACA kayak course, or who are already familiar with the basic strokes and know how to do a wet exit and self-rescue with paddlefloat.
• Pool Sessions
  Several pool sessions are scheduled during the winter months to brush up on your kayaking skills. Sessions include instruction on Basic Rescues, Bracing and Rolling skills and a Rolling class. Pools sessions are led by one of the club's ACA certified instructors.
• Wednesday night paddle and skill sessions
  These sessions are held approximately once a month during the summer months at one of the lakes in the Twin Cities area. Sessions are devoted to reviewing paddling skills with the help of ACA instructors. Past sessions have focused on reviewing paddle strokes, rescue techniques, bracing skills and rolling.
