Otters like to slide down river banks, and in snow
When they see you, they will stick their heads above the water and make little barking noises
Most active in early morning or evening
Signs:
Look for mud slides on river banks
Scat:
Usually has fish scales and bones in it
Scats may be in scent mounds, or places that the animal poops again and again, probably to send a message to other otters
